    3. Is this Mary Elizabeth Rehberg, born circa 1853? If it is and if you have an exact birth date I would appreciate knowing what it is... as well as place & date of death, children, etc. Mary Elizabeth was a daughter of Charles Rehberg and Permelia Jane Holton, and Charles was the oldest son of George Frederick and Sophia Elizabeth Rehberg. Charles was born in Germany, probably in the Kingdom of Hanover. George Frederick was born in Hanover... Sophia Elizabeth was born in Hessen-Castell (Hessia). The Rehbergs are supposed to have arrived at the port of St. Marks , Florida, in the mid-1830s and they initially settled in southern Decatur County in a part that is now Grady County. Fred and Sophie's children lived mostly in Decatur and Thomas Counties, except that John went to Jackson County, Florida. John, however, is buried in the Old Cairo City Cemetery in Cairo, Grady County. For information about Rehbergs who served under the Confederacy (including Charles), see: http://pone.com/ts/rw000.htm RW JAMES HURST wrote: >I am looking for any information on Mary >Rehberg of Southwest Georgia... 3. Mr. White, Thank you for your reply! Your information was interesting and very helpful!!! I finally had a day off today so I went to Thomas County Ga to check out the library again! Last time I went down I did not have the Rehberg name so thought I would try again... I found the Rehberg book! I made lots of notes and will try to get everything caught up soon. Our line definitely is the one you suggested. Unfortunately, I do not have a date for Mary nor do I have anything further back on Jack!. I did get to add information though and will try to see if I can find someone with the Hurst information too. If I do come up with the date for Mary I will get back to you. So it seems we are distant cousins... Thanks again, JC Hurst... ----- Original Message ----- From: "Richard White" <rw@pone.com> To: <GATHOMAS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, April 13, 2004 1:46 PM Subject: Re: [GATHOMAS] rehberg > > Is this Mary Elizabeth Rehberg, born circa 1853?
