The Herald & Advertiser Newnan, Coweta County, Friday, April 17, 1908 The South Georgia Home, published at Boston, GA., chronicles the death of Dr. M.E. Stacy, an old and honored resident of that town, and brother of Dr. Jas. Stacy of his city, which occurred on the 10th inst. The following notice of the death of this good man is taken from the paper: "At about 8 o'clock last Wednesday morning the spirit of Dr. M.E. Stacy, Boston's oldest citizen, passed to its reward beyond the river of death. Dr. Stacy died at the home of his son, Mr. Howard Stacy. He was 82 years old. Dr. Stacy had been in feeble health for some time, being confined to an indoor life entirely. Recently he grew weaker and then steadily declined until the end came. Rev. W.W. Towson, pastor of the Methodist church, conducted the funeral services at the residence of Mr. Howard Stacy at 11 o'clock Thursday, interment being in the old cemetery near the Methodist church. The deceased had spent a life above reproach, winning and retaining to the end the love and respect of all who knew him." <><><><><><><><><><><><><> Dedicated to the Preservation of Southern Heritage and Culture.
