In the past years of researching some of the Hursts who migrated from Effingham County to Thomas Co. Ga. I keep coming across the Humphreys Hurst. I do not think they are related to my Hurst line, but just can't stand not know who this man was. Especially so since I have found three of them. I found evidence of some researchers on Rootsweb, too. There is a large gap in the time span between the early Humphreys and the later ones fpund in Thomas county. I am talking 1500 to about 1820! Thus I feel that there may not be much know by others, either. I have located these 3: 1.-Humphrey b. about 1796 in North Carolina. Located in the 1850 census of Thomas Co. Ga. Wife listed as Sarah who was 52 and born in Ga. This Humphrey was at the age of 54. Children: Mary, Hampton, and David. 2. - Humphret Hurst (H. or N.) who married Martha Applewhite in 1855. Their children are listed on Rootweb site. 3.-Humphrey (H or M. Sr.) married Nancy Fulwood on Dec. 22, 1867. Can anyone enlighten me on these names? Judy V. Mason
