I'm not saying that is the case... I'm just speculating that. Or it may be because the older maps did not seem to take extreme accuracy as a watchword. For example, if you believed the maps, Cairo wasn't always in Thomas County till Grady County was created... but so far as I know it was. It was also close to the county line... Here's what the U GA site says about Cairo: Cairo Decatur, Thomas, Grady 1839 - Decatur, 1846 - Decatur, 1855 - Decatur, 1863 - Decatur, 1864 - Decatur, 1865 - Decatur, 1874 - Thomas, 1883 - Thomas, 1885b - Thomas, 1895 - Thomas, 1899 - Thomas, 1904 - Thomas, 1910 - (and thereafter) - Grady, 1915, 1952, 1955, 1970a, 1970b current county seat of Grady County But back to the original post... the only old cemetery that I know of at Boston... isn't that at the PRESBYTRIAN Church? And Boston isn't Grooverville... So... I hate to say this, but it looks to me like several different things have been confounded and the whole subject needs to be researched and thought through again. This is something that I am familiar with... having done this sort of muddling things up myself more than once...
