    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Milton Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/0d.2ADE/1347.1.1.2.2.2 Message Board Post: Ref. your query concerning Milton brothers...Have no memory of hearing of Miltons while I lived at Grooverville.I am interested in Baptist history and have located a book which mentions Henry Milton several times, though nothing very meaningful. From the book it appears that Henry was anti-missionary and served as moderator of a Primitive Baptist Associationion south Ga/north Fl. This book is "Primitive Baptists of the Wiregrass South" by John G. Crowley. I do not have access to a copy but another book may contain info on one or more of the Miltons, " History of the Baptist Denomination in Georgia" in two volumes by Samuel Boykin. Am not sure of any mention in this book but it is the most detailed history of the Baptists in Georgia. Another idea that may produce results is to contact the research people at Mercer University Library and as if they have info/ideas. You might also write the editor of the Georgia Baptist Paper, "Christian Index" and ask people! to check the local church histories for the 1815-1850 era. Sorry this is the best this old Cracker can do.
