Is this Mary Elizabeth Rehberg, born circa 1853? If it is and if you have an exact birth date I would appreciate knowing what it is... as well as place & date of death, children, etc. Mary Elizabeth was a daughter of Charles Rehberg and Permelia Jane Holton, and Charles was the oldest son of George Frederick and Sophia Elizabeth Rehberg. Charles was born in Germany, probably in the Kingdom of Hanover. George Frederick was born in Hanover... Sophia Elizabeth was born in Hessen-Castell (Hessia). The Rehbergs are supposed to have arrived at the port of St. Marks , Florida, in the mid-1830s and they initially settled in southern Decatur County in a part that is now Grady County. Fred and Sophie's children lived mostly in Decatur and Thomas Counties, except that John went to Jackson County, Florida. John, however, is buried in the Old Cairo City Cemetery in Cairo, Grady County. For information about Rehbergs who served under the Confederacy (including Charles), see: http://pone.com/ts/rw000.htm RW JAMES HURST wrote: >I am looking for any information on Mary >Rehberg of Southwest Georgia... Pavo (Lebanon) Cemetery is located just west of Pavo on Georgia Highway 122. In Survey of Thomas County Georgia Cemeteries by Joe Craigmiles, III I found the following information: HESTER, Allene W., Jan. 26, 1900 - James Madison, Jan. 26, 1966 - May 17, 1928 ( I believe this is a typo and should be 1866 not 1966) Mary W., Sept. 2, 1834 - Feb. 8, 1916 Molsie Frances, Sept. 29, 1925 - Oct. 7 1941 Ola Fitzgerald w/o F.B., Nov. 4, 1879 - May 13, 1942 Thomas R., May 7, 1832 - July 5, 1889 William J. (Willie), April 12, 1898 - Feb. 16, 1961 WW I. There are also 5 Brices listed in this cemetery. If you want this information please contact me. I hope this will help you some. acecableman@aol.com wrote: > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/0d.2ADE/1376 > > Message Board Post: > > I am trying to find where my gg-greatparents, Thomas R. Please read below and respond to Joel Hewitt. ----- Original Message ----- From: JHEWITT55@aol.com To: Winnette Sent: Monday, April 12, 2004 10:36 AM Subject: Thomas County Cemetery question (Oldest cemeteries) RESEND To whom it may concern: I am currently trying to organize my yearly research trip, I am trying to locate, photograph,GPS each Veterans grave of a particular Civil War unit (Clinch 4th GA CAV) for a book I am writting. Since Companies F & H was mustered out of Thomas I will work on the assumption the soldiers returned and lived and died in the county they mustered at for the war, thus far my assumption has proven true with some of the other Companies Veterans. I start with looking for the oldest cemeteries in the county and or ones that will have death dates up to the 1930s. Could y'all supply me with a list of what y'all think or know as the TOP 5 or 10 oldest cemeteries? I have the USGS cemetery listings for Thomas county and also a Georgia DOT map which has many listed but as you know they do not determine if they are a cemetery created in the last 20 years or 150 etc, as you can see only having a week to roam all over the county it can cut down on waisted time if I can narrow down my search to the cemeteries most likely to have the Vets. Thanks for your assistance. Joel E. Hewitt Clinch 4th Georgia Cav. Researcher. McDonough GA 30253 --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). Did you change email addresses? If you have any information on his daughter Mary W. Brice who married Thomas R. Hesters in Brooks County, Georgia, I would appreciate it, my husband is descended from Bettie Hesters I found a census record for her under these two names, and also sisters Mattie Leona, and Ida, so this must be her parents, but I cant find anything else. Thanks, Betty Hester

A Genealogical Will This is an excellent idea. Even If YOU don't do genealogy, SURELY someone in your family MUST!! =============== "Genealogical Codicil to My Last Will and Testament: To my spouse, children, guardian, administrator and/or executor: Upon my demise it is requested that you DO NOT dispose of any or all of my genealogical records, both those prepared personally by me and those records prepared by others which may be in my possession, including but not limited to books, files, notebooks or computer programs for a period of two years. During this time period, please attempt to identify one or more persons who would be willing to take custody of the said materials and the responsibility of maintaining and continuing the family histories. [If you know whom within your family or friends are likely candidates to accept these materials, please add the following at this point: "I suggest that the persons contacted regarding the assumption of the custody of these items include BUT not be limited to" and then list the names of those individuals at this point, with their addresses and telephone numbers if known] In the event you do not find anyone to accept these materials, please contact the various genealogical organizations that I have been a member of, or have worked with, which you will find listed at the bottom of this document, and determine if they will accept some parts or all of my genealogical materials. [List of organizations, addresses and phone numbers at bottom; include local chapters, with their addresses, phone numbers and contact persons if available as well as state- national contact information and addresses at the end of this document] Please remember that my genealogical endeavors consumed a great deal of time, travel, and money. Therefore it is my desire that the products of these endeavors be allowed to continue in a manner that will make them available to others in the future. URGENT WARNING BROWSERS HIJACKERS Some of these hijackers are actually Trojans (backdoors) that will disable most anti-virus software when they load. The antic-virus software will continue to look like it is running, and will even scan, but it will not find the backdoor! One method to help get around this is to boot the windows computer in safe mode. This will prevent the OS from loading anything but the most basic of drivers. Then do a system scan with your anti-virus program. Keep a watch on your task list. Users should "familiarize themselves with what is normally running". Then when they have an issue such as a browser hijack, they can fairly quickly determine what program is running that should not be. For a quick check, there is a good site that details almost all common task list programs: answerthatwork.com/Tasklist - pages/tasklist.htm My computers had a similar problem not too long ago. Registry editing was required to remove it but it kept my virus scan from finding it. The way I found it was doing a remote virus scan from my computer. Antic-virus software companies now warn about a new version of the popular Bagel Virus, which is spreading on the Internet through infected e-mail messages and which similarly sets up a backdoor to your computer system. Bagle.U is the 21st version of an e-mail worm that first appeared in January. Unlike earlier versions of the worm, the new variant puts out enticing messages, hiding in a file attachment to otherwise blank e-mail messages. Once opened, Bagle.U opens a backdoor to infected systems and mails copies of itself to e-mail addresses it finds on the system. New versions of these worms have been surfacing on an almost daily basis since January, apparently as part of a contest between the authors of Bagel and Netsky worms. YOUR BEST OPTION TO PROTECT YOURSELF FROM THEM IS TO NOT OPEN ANY FILE ATTACHMENTS WHATSOEVER.......!!!
