    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Wynn Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/0d.2ADE/1419 Message Board Post: All, Gervaise Wynn Perdue and myself, Geoffrey A. Thompson have been discussing for some time the idea of starting a Wynn DNA project for those Wynn’s of Wilkinson County, Georgia. We would like to get DNA tests on known MALE DESCENDANT’s WITH THE SURNAME OF WYNN of these gentlemen: JAMES (b.1800), JOHN (b. 1787), ASHLEY (b. 1804),. BARTLEY, b. 1793), OBEDIAH (b. 1813) to WILLIAM WYNN, JR. (b. 1790, d. 1870), all of Wilkinson County, Georgia. We are hoping to find one volunteer from each family line to do a simple do-it-yourself at home DNA test and we are also hoping to find cousins willing to help pay for these tests. I am willing to help pay for testing a known descendant of Bartley Wynn and I know that Gervaise is willing to help pay for testing on her line. The number of markers tested determines the cost, of course the more markers tested the more you can be sure of the results. These tests can cost over $200. These tests will not prove that so-and-so was someone’s father and it will not prove that two individual’s were brother’s. What it will establish is that two individuals had a common ancestor. If you would like to participate in some capacity, please contact me at geoffrey.thompson@sbcglobal.net or Gervaise Wynn Perdue at gwperdue@cox.net

    1. Death of Dr. M.E. Stacy
    2. ATK's Grannie
    3. The Herald & Advertiser Newnan, Coweta County, Friday, April 17, 1908 The South Georgia Home, published at Boston, GA., chronicles the death of Dr. M.E. Stacy, an old and honored resident of that town, and brother of Dr. Jas. Stacy of his city, which occurred on the 10th inst. The following notice of the death of this good man is taken from the paper: "At about 8 o'clock last Wednesday morning the spirit of Dr. M.E. Stacy, Boston's oldest citizen, passed to its reward beyond the river of death. Dr. Stacy died at the home of his son, Mr. Howard Stacy. He was 82 years old. Dr. Stacy had been in feeble health for some time, being confined to an indoor life entirely. Recently he grew weaker and then steadily declined until the end came. Rev. W.W. Towson, pastor of the Methodist church, conducted the funeral services at the residence of Mr. Howard Stacy at 11 o'clock Thursday, interment being in the old cemetery near the Methodist church. The deceased had spent a life above reproach, winning and retaining to the end the love and respect of all who knew him." <><><><><><><><><><><><><> Dedicated to the Preservation of Southern Heritage and Culture.

    1. Butler's and Milton's
    2. Margaret Lee
    3. I am looking for information on the family of Isaac Butler and his wife Frances Sutton, as well as their children. Isaac was born about 1799 and lived in Thomas County at the time of his death, where I don't know. Frances was several years younger and she too died in Thomas County. Their oldest son was Isaac Samuel Butler who married Margaret Milton, the daughter of Robertson Milton. Robertson, sometimes shown as Robinson Milton, and his wife were also residents of the time of their death. Robertson was the son of Nathianel Milton and his wife was Dorcus Dugger, it is said she was the child of Captian John Dugger. All were residents of Thomas County. Isaac Samuel and Margaret Milton Butler were my husband's greatgrandparents. I was told they lived in the Area of Boston, GA. I have a copy of a postcard sent by a.granddaughter to their son, Thomas Robertson Butler when Margaret died in 1903. It was postmarked in Boston, GA. Isaac S. and Margaret had several children besides Thomas. They included, Jeff, Bob and Minnie, I don't know all the names. Any information would certainly be appreciated.
