This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Daniel, Walden Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/0d.2ADE/1116.1 Message Board Post: Looking for descendants of Moses Daniel (born c. 1803) who is in Richmond County, Georgia in 1830 (indexed Magers Daniel) with Needham Daniel born c. 1799 and Bryant or Bryan Daniel which all may be brothers. They are the only three Daniel's indexed in Rodes (probably should be Rhodes) District which became Dist. #121. They are also there in Richmond through 1850 with many more Daniel sons appearing each year. By 1860 this Moses Daniel is in Warren County, Georgia and shown as a primitive baptist preacher. Warren County records indicate Moses was pastor of Hardshell Baptist Church, Beall Springs. In 1870 Moses Daniel has moved to Emanual County, Georgia and still alive in 1880 but not on 1900 census. Earlier in 1820, the only Daniel shown in Richmond County is Stephen Daniel who is not there in 1830. Does anyone have any info on this Stephen Daniel ?? 1850 census shows Moses had a son Elisha Daniel who is found in Lowndes County by 1860. Records indicate he died of illness at Elmira NY while serving in the Civil War, enlisted in Lowndes County, Georgia and leaving at least four children and his wife. Moses Daniel also had a daughter Elizabeth born c. 1828 who is not on the 1860 census in Warren County with him. This Elizabeth Daniel may be the same that married Mitchell Walden of Jefferson County, GA. sometime between 1856 and 1865 (no marriage record found in either county). Death Certificate of Great Grandfather John Walden shows his mother was Elizabeth Daniels and census does show Mitchell's wife as born 1828 on census records. Mitchell and Elizabeth also had several children, namely Adella (Della) Walden who is found living with Moses Walden in 1880 in Emanuel County with Thomas Walden, both listed as grandchildren of Moses Daniel and both matching children of Mitchell Walden. Please contact me with any information for this Daniel family at b_black@eastga.net
