    3. I'm not trying to "start anything" (a bragging contest, or whatever)... I'm just passing on something my dad told me. He said that his grandfather, Richard M. Sellars, was the only person he knew of who could successfully grow apples "in South Georgia". R. M.'s farm was in Thomas County till it got re-divided into Grady County in 1906. One of R.M.'s father (Jacob Benjamin Sellers)' sisters, Elizabeth Sellers, married Alexander Peacock, Jr., in Pulaski County, Georgia, in 1833. I also have Alexander Peacock, Sr., down as having married an Elizabeth Sellers.... but I'm not sure if that is just confusion or what? I have very little... virtually no... information on the Peacock/Sellers connection. Is there any kind of "vast compendium" of Peacock family data someone could point me towards to get some idea...? 3. Here is what I know about John Scott. Born 1805 Georgia. Married before 1828. 1st Wife's name was probably Anna or something close. They are found on 1830, 1840 Bibb County, Ga census. In 1850 he had 9 living children and remarried that year to Jane G Rembert widow of Caleb Rembert. She had five daughters. Her oldest daughter Elizabeth had married to John Scott's oldest Dr. Henry Augustus Scott in 1848 in Bibb Co. They had one son John Rembert Scott. Sometime after that they all moved to Albany, Ga where Dr Scott was in practice. Elizabeth died in 1852 and I believe the baby died some time before that. Jane's youngest daughter died three weeks before Elizabeth. John, Jane and probably most of the children - Dr.Scott stayed in Albany- moved to Thomasville where he started or purchased a livery stable. Thomas E Scott their only child was born about 1851. Dr. Scott remarried to Virginia Ann Lester of Russell County, Alabama. John's probate shows that he was in debt at his death around August 1854. His daughter Frances b. 1834 mariied Henry C McLendon, Marilla b. 1838 married Thomas Avera and moved to Quitman, Brooks co where he was in business with his brother. William b. 1840 was a law student in 1860 in Thomasville and living with sister Frances and family. Other children of John were; James b. 1832, John b. 1836, George b. 1844, Alexander F b 1846 and Cary ( probably Zachary Taylor ) b. 1848. Jane's daughters were Sarah b. 1838 married James L Walcott in Thomasville, Hester Ann b. 1840 married Thomas Jackson Dekle Thomasville, Louisa A b. 1842 married Matthew Dekle Thomasville. Thomas E Scott married Loudie Johnson. Loudie later married Charles Hurst. That's as brief as I can make it.
