She was born May 5, 1925 in Bard, NM. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was a member of the DOES and a Liones. Visitation is scheduled fro Wednesday, November 12, 2003 from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Rollie Mortuary, Inc. 401 E. Nizhoni Blvd. Gallup, NM. Services will be held Thursday, November 13, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 1800 Red Rock Drive, Gallup, NM. Rev. Layloni Drake will be officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park following the service. Memorials can be sent to New Mexico Boys and Girls Ranch, Boys, P.O. Box 9, Belen, NM 87002. Survivors include, her husband, Wallace Leach of Gallup, NM; son, Terry Leach of Albuquerque; daughter, Jan Smith of Gallup; brothers, Ben Gates of Hoodsport, WA, Bill Gates of Anacortes, WA and Bob Gates of San Jon, NM; sister, Leona Fay Mayfield of Tuc! umcari, NM; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Josephine Gates. Pallbearers will be Kiki Alonzo, Alan Cumiford, Joe McMillan, Harry Mendoza, Joe Myers Scott Richards.
