My Gates line (Elisha) comes from CT, to NY (Herkimer then Oswego and Jefferson Counties). His brother (Ezra) lived in Wyoming County, NY with children/grandchildren in Cattaraugus, Otsego, Chautauqua, Columbia, and Cayuga Counties.
