Wondering if it might be Wm. F's father? My GATES were in the Smith/Wilson/Delalb counties area. Did your GATES live in Panola Co., MS at one time? I've been looking at an Andrew b 1829 TN and a John b 1812 TN.... BTW, there's an Earl GATES in my line, in Greene Co., MO.... served WWI. Pamela Pamela
