He married Barbara Amsbaugh and they had at least 6 children: Lydia, Isaac, Martin (I am descended from this Martin), Elizabeth Jane, George and John. Martin died in Medina County, OH on January 10, 1887. I suspect that the Father of this Martin Gates was the Martin Gates living in Fallowfield Township, Washington County, PA from 1800-1820, but do not have enough info to prove or disprove this. If you have any info please let me know.
