As to others? Some did not live to make it to Michigan. Joseph came when he was five. The last child was born in Barre. Her name was Sarah E. Henry John was older brother by just a few years of Joseph..and he was born in Shelby Basin also. In Henry John's write up in Muskegon, Michigan papers [successful businessman there it seems] he stated his antecedents were 1/4 Irish. Now that could be CUMMINGS or GATES lines. Esther As stated before Mary GATES is a brick wall and has been since late 90s. As well as David CUMMINGS her husband born in 1798. It is possible his father might have been either Joseph or perhaps Jacob. Jacob was son by his first wife who passed on after I think it was her 4th child.
