Hello, My grandmother is Myrtle Douglas Gates. She was married to Stanley Brooks Harmon. Stanley was known as Brooks during his life time. It is believed that that Myrtle was born about 1914. She died on September 12, 1949 in Maysville, Mason County, KY. The family story is that she was buried and then a court house was built on top of her grave. Stanley Brooks Harmon was born on November 6, 1911 in Sherburne, Fleming County, Ky. He died on June 21, 1982 in Dickson, Dickson County, TN. It is unknown who Myrtle parents are. Stanley's parents are Benjamin A Harmon and Ruth Matilda Porter. Benjamin died when he was about 39 years old of food poisoning. It is believed he was born about 1872 in Kentucky. Ruth was born on October 13, 1876 in Kentucky and died September 22, 1959 in Moorehead, Mason County, KY. It is known that a nephew to them is Junior Harmon. At the last known time he was living in Sherburne. Any information that someone would have on this family would be very appreciated. My mother is B. Kathryn Harmon.
