I have several Gates members missing from my family born between 1801 and 1890. Most were born in NY in the first half of the century, but several are born in counties in MI (Kent, Kalamazoo, Barry, Newaygo, Montcalm, Ionia, Muskegon, St Clair, Oscoda, Otsego, Clare and Iosco), they hit Montana, Fayette IN, and Wisconsin as well. Tracking them is becoming increasingly difficult. If you have ties to any of these counties and your family originated in the 1800's in New York, would you please email me if you know the lineage. Please email me if you don't know their lineage as well. I am hoping to connect with someone who may have that missing piece.
