I found a David Gates in Galia Ohio married to a Hannah Loucks. On the 1870 in Ohio census they have Sarah born in 1867, son George abt 1863 and Everett born abt 1865. In 1880 Hannah was in Coffey, Kansas married to a Israiel Huffman, Sarah and Everett are with her but not George. It seems that Mr. Huffman died shortly after they married. When Sarah Gates married Sturgeon they lived in the county over from Chautaugua Co Kansas. I can find nothing further on David Gates after 1870. do this ring a bell to anyone? THANKS!
