MA that he quarreled with his neighbors, the WHitcombe's and that his daughter MAry , "very boldly contradicted the minister in public assembly". Stephens 1st wife Ann married Richard Woodward of Watertownn, 1663. She died at Stow, MA Feb 5, 1863.-- Family birth, death and marriage records were as found in the book:"Stephen Gates of Hingham and Lancaster, Massachsetts and Some of His Decendants" by TORREY, Clarence Almon "The New Englamd Historical and Genealogical Register (Jul 1966-Oct 1967).
