Philip was born in 1781 in York Co PA. Parents were German immigrants, Jost/Yost Goetz and Mary Goetz. Have christening recording linking Philip to his parents. But no conclusive link between Philip and the man I believe to be his son, Michael Gates, born 1811 KY. I descend directly from Michel, son of Philip, that is what I am trying to establish is the father son relationship. Have not tried Heritage Quest. Gena
