Thena and Charley, ages 16 and 13, with personal property valued at 10,000 each, are living with the Andrew and Thena Park family. I also find Thena and Charley, ages 16 and 15 with personal property valued at 13, 000 each, and a Nancy, age 18, living with the Ben M and Ellen Gates family. Have I stumbled on two sets of sisters, or could this be the same girls, just 'bouncing' back and forth between relatives (or maybe just visiting)??? Apr. 1861; I have his parents as Silas Cook Gates and his mother as Lactana Morris. My Osman (I love having an Uncle Os!) lived and died in Watseka, IL.
