I am very well aware that there is a 20 year gap between the 1880 and 1900 censuses. I did find a Green D. Conley in the 1910 Census. However, his name was written as Green D. Comley in that census. This is one of the cases in which it is helpful to search using a wildcard. He can be found in Telfair County, GA in the Pitts District, ED 164. Listed as Family 271, next door to Joseph Conley. I believe this to be the same person as the Green Daniel Conley, who registered for the WWI draft in Sumter Co. His wife is named as Carrie Conley, but she was living in Cordele, GA at that time. Green and Daniel are names that are common to the Conley families that lived in Telfair and Dodge Counties. Green comes from the maiden name of Michael Conley's wife Edna Green. Michael was the first Conley to settle in Telfair Co. Daniel first appears as a name given to a son of Amelia Conley. Amelia was a daughter of Michael and Edna Conley. Since I now have an Ancestry subscription again, I see that in 1921 Green D. Conley and wife Carrie are living at 209 N. Mayo in Americus, Ga. He was listed as a road superintendent. So he did survive WWI. However, I am not able to find Green in Sumter Co. in 1920. Again, as I mentioned to you in a previous reply. I am hoping to find a family member who would have some information, as what I have been able to find on any of the members of this family has been limited.
