If so, then the cemetary is located on Georgia Highway 117 two miles south of the Dodge/Telfair county line. The cemetary is in a small fenced-in area set pack just a bit from the highway with a sign marking it as Concord Cemetary. Robert H. Jefferies remembers correctly: that was the Temperance community. Across from the church was a school and a Masonic lodge. About half a mile to the south, at the dirt road (the Tram road), was the old "Dodge" company building. Across the highway was the old hotel, and on the other side of the house there was the Colored school. All of this is gone now. There used to be quite a town there; I'm told that about a hundred homes stood in the area along the Tram road from the highway. I was always warned about the abandoned wells in the area - very hazardous. The black church on the Tram road is New Hope CME Church. It originally stood on the highway across the road from the Colored school, but burned and was moved to the Tram road. That cemetary is located in the woods toward Spring Lake. There's a rumor that another white church stood closer to the river, but I don't know if it's true. The Tram Road itself was part of the old Central Georgia Land and Lumber Company (Dodge Company) rail line. They used to send lumber down this railroad to the river, where it was sawn and built into rafts to float down to Darian. Hope this helps. - Kevin J. Cheek
