Sarah Lou Davis is the half sister of my Grandfather Walter Thomas Yawn. Sarah was the oldest child of William Alfred Davis b.Mar.20,1857 Worth Co. Ga.d.Oct.4,1904 buried at Oak Grove Cemetary, Turner Co. Ga. and Elizabeth Luraney Selph b.Feb.6, 1857 Dooly Co. Ga.d.Jan. 30,1903 buried at Siloam Bapt. Church Cemetary Telfair Co. Ga. Luraney was married 4 times, 1st to Bill Davis, children Sarah Lou,b.Jan.5,1871, Wm.Alfred Jr. abt. 1873, Joseph abt 1875. 2nd husband A.E. Bass (mother thinks his name was Elex but hasn't been proven yet) children A.E.Jr. b. 1876 and Frank b.1878 3rd husband James Yawn (my line) children Walter Thomas b. 1886, Robert b. 1887 I am having quite a time finding anything on my James Yawn also. 4th husband Daniel Dykes , child Sallie Jane 1896. I have not looked for the Davis family on the census, but had run across a couple of property transfers between Wm Davis and L! uraneys father. I have some info on the Davis/Spires marriage, and also on the Joseph Davis family, but have not located anything on Wm Alfred Jr. I would be glad to share anything that you may be interested in.
