I was born and lived for about the first 12 years of my life in that area. There was one main dirt road called the tram road which ran right through the area. I never knew of a white church on the road, but the last I know of a black church was still holding services in theirs. In the 1800's this was the same area where the Dodge family had a large business cutting trees and sending them down the river to Lumber City. Near this area is a lake called Dodges Old Lake.
