Looking for information on homestead exemption. What is the meaning of that? This was applied for in 1879 for a family in Telfair County. Does that mean that if they were given the exemption they would not have to pay taxes? How would we know if they were approved for that exemption? Thanks for any expertise on this matter. Emma
