I hope that I can be of some help. I did some hunting in the census for George W. White. There weren't any in Telfair Co. in 1880, so I moved on to 1900. Yes, there were two - one born in 1872, and one b. in 1878. You said your George was born abt. 1875, so we need more info to identify the right one. Looking at the 1910 census, the George born in 1878 had married a woman named Jennie or Jannie, and had daughters Ethel, Essie, and Effie. I'd say this is your George W. White! So, let's trace backwards from there: 1910 Census - Telfair Co. (son), 3, 1/1897 <The names of George's siblings confirm that this is the right George!> The only Stephen White of the right age in Telfair Co. in 1880 is black, with a wife named Caroline, and no children (i.e. I don't think there's a mistake on the color). I've looked at the other Stephen/Steven Whites in GA of the right age, and most of the boys named George White born between 1877 - 1890 in GA in the south part of the state, and didn't see any likely matches. Unfortunately, I can't connect William White to any of my Telfair Co. Whites. There's still a lot of research that needs to be done with them, especially in regards to land records.
