Trying to find out more about Jane Elizabeth Jarrell and John F. Jarrell who appeared in the 1870 census Montgomery County (Lumber City) in the household of Jacob Clements. The listing is as follows: Jacob C. Clements, 37, M, Farmer, born GA Winifred Clements, 26, F, keeping house, born GA Gibins (?) Clements, 10, M, working farm, born GA Elizabeth Clements, 7, F, born GA Avery B. Clements, 3, M, born GA Jane Elizabeth Jarrell, 22, F, laborer, born GA John F. Jarrell, 18, M, farm laborer, born GA Then, I found a Montgomery County marriage notice of Clemmy Clements who married Jane Elizabeth Jarrell dated 1 February 1871. I think Jane and John Jarrell were hired hands on the Jacob Clements farm. Also, I have a 1956 cemetery inventory of the Fishing Creek Baptist Church just out of Lumber City, GA and will do lookups for anyone. Gene Jarrell, High Point, NC
This huge group of them, and no one ever related! I know one of the women moved to Jacksonville FLORIDA, and my grandfather died there. Thats how I found enough to find this bunch. Any info, relatives, tales and contacts greatly appreciated. Barbara in NJ --- Smith, Jack born Jan.1848, age 55, GA married 27 yr. She is a grandchild of one of the two McLeans that came into Telfair from NC, I think. Both grandfather and my father had multiple marriages, so if you are looking for lost SMITH relatives, it could be mine. (g)

Surnames: BREWER, HINTON, TOWNLEY Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Ad.2ADI/1099 Message Board Post: Seeking help identifying the Georgia family of my George W. Brewer, born August 1844 in GA. He enlisted in Co. G, 11th Alabama Infantry known as the Northport Rifles which is Tuscaloosa County, AL. George lost a leg in the war and settled in Birmingham, AL after the war and died there about 1889. His profession was distiller. He named a daughter Mary Margaret Brewer, possibly after his mother or grandmother, and he named a son Marion Moses known as "Mape" Brewer. He married Disa Townley of Townley, AL and there was a connection to a William Hinton family where George, age 16 was enumerated on the 1860 Tuscaloosa County census. The census stated he was born in Georgia, and the Hintons were from SC and TN. Please note this is Hinton, not to be confused with Hinson. Family tradition tells of the Brewers coming from England and a Brewer ancestor of George marrying an Indian woman. This seems to fit with the family from Telfair Co. GA and Arthur Brewer. Would love to hea! r from anyone aware of an untraced George W. Brewer b. in 1844 in GA and then to AL.
