Susannah FLETCHER (1788-1863) was the wife of Wm Talmage Studstill, Sr. He died in Telfair County in 1844, and apparently Susannah returned to Bulloch County, GA before her death. I know very little about the FLETCHER families, but have information on Studstill and various other Telfair surnames that I'd be happy to share.

    1. Lowery Families of Dodge, Laurens, & Telfair counties
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: LOWERY, HUTTO, BUCHANNAN, PARKER, STUDSTILL Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Ad.2ADI/1333 Message Board Post: Gloria, I have much updated information on the LOWERY families since the Smallwood book was published. With the help of some other LOWERY researchers, we have sorted through the Lowerys of this area, and have identified their lines with the exception of a very few. I haven't found any proof that Caner Lowery came from NC. Census info indicates he was born in GA. Another book on the History of Dodge County stated that Caner Lowery came from Ireland. That is not correct either. From all the census, marriage and cemetery records and lines we've cross referrenced, I tend to agree with Mr. Edsel Joiner. According to his book which I found in the Ben Hill library entitled Family Connections Around Sugar Creek, he suggested that William Elcainer Lowery "Caner" was born in Laurens County and could possibly be a brother to Andrew Lowery who migrated from Jefferson County, GA (our line). The Bible records of William C. Lowery found in a book of Georgia Bible Records lists the same children as Caner's offspring, so that's what began to point to realizing Caner was just a nickname. Sometimes he was listed as Wm E. and other times as Wm C. Mr. Joiner solved that mystery by revealing his whole name. Andrew Lowery, however, was the son of Jeremiah M. Lowery and Mary Ameri Vaughn. Jeremiah was the son of Andrew Lowery and Angelany Loftin of Jefferson County, GA. Andrew was the son of William C. Lowery and Rhoda Pearis Neely. Andrew Lowery married Ida Francis Flanders on 15 Aug 1886 in Laurens County, GA (Book J p 391). They apparently migrated to Oregon. I'll be happy to forward information to any Lowery researchers of the lines of both Caner Lowery and Andrew Lowery.

Surnames: LOWERY families of South Central Georgia Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Ad.2ADI/1332 Message Board Post: I have a lot of updated information on these Lowery families since the publication of the Smallwood book. I'll be happy to send this to you. There is much confusion about the relationship of William Elcaner "Caner" (aka Wm E. and Wm C) Lowery of Dodge County, and the descendants of William Lowery from Jefferson County, GA. Both lines had offspring with identical names. I have not found any proof that Caner Lowery came from Robeson, NC, although his wife, Nancy Maloy was apparently born there. Dodge County Census indicates Caner (William E.) was born in GA. I think we have pretty much sorted them out, however. Email me, and I'll send it to you. Just for starts... I have ANDREW LOWERY b. 11 Jul 1861 Dublin, Laurens Co, GA d. 15 Aug 1932 Asteria, Clatsop Co, OR; married 15 Aug 1886 Laurens Co, GA (Book J p 391) to IDA FRANCIS FLANDERS. Andrew is the son of JEREMIAH M. LOWERY and MARY AMERI VAUGHN of Laurens County, GA. This is the line that migrated from Jefferson County, GA via Andrew Lowery and Angelany Loftin. This is not the line of CANER LOWERY of Dodge County. Hope this helps

I'm also looking for info on a Daniel Joseph Williams (Sr. and/or Jr) Sr. would be my gm's father born approx. 1902. The only thing I can find on him is on the 1930 Census where he's listed with his wife, Annie Mae (McCranie), my gm, Mary and her brother Daniel. Annie Mae's mother was Emma Jane Cadwell. My gm doesn't talk about her father so info is extremely scarce. Annie Mae died w/i a year of the 1930 census during/after childbirth and my gm and her brother were sent to live with relatives. Yes this is the correct Reba, and in the time since I had written this post, I have found Thomas Gordon Conley and the family of his second marriage. I found that I have 3 half-uncles and have been in contact with one of them now for a while. I do so appreciate all your help and hope our paths will cross even again. Thank you for being willing to help others in their searches. Sharon Morgan

You mentioned family lines of Selph, Cadwell, Williams... My gf was Marvin Selph, son of John Jackson 'Tack" Selph. Do you have any info on his gm Quinnie Spires? I'm also looking for info on a Daniel Joseph Williams (Sr. and/or Jr) Sr. would be my gm's father born approx. 1902. The only thing I can find on him is on the 1930 Census where he's listed with his wife, Annie Mae (McCranie), my gm, Mary and her brother Daniel. Annie Mae's mother was Emma Jane Cadwell. My gm doesn't talk about her father so info is extremely scarce. Annie Mae died w/i a year of the 1930 census during/after childbirth and my gm and her brother were sent to live with relatives. Can anyone help?

I don't have anything, at all on him but the dates of birth, death and when he and Sudie were married. I wanted to find out what I could for my Daddy. His Daddy was Jim, Ms. Mattie's brother. I hear that Mattie Lee is the only one left and she's 96. My Daddy saw her at Susie Lee's funeral a few weeks ago, I sure would've loved to meet her and had a chance to talk to her. Thank you for responding and I look forward to anything you can tell me!!
