(1939) it has his sister as Mrs. Henry Powell of McRae. Do you show ANY Henry Powell married to a Johnson? I'm guessing her birth year as around 1865. Thanks, Joy
Looking for any information on Mary Ann Ryals who married James or John R. Dowdy in 1847. Both died within a few months of each other before 1880 census in Dodge County. The census seems to have her married to two different dowdy men. Is this true? Any information on the name of the husband or husbands of Mary Ann Ryals will be very appreciated. Thanks, Emma

Dodge County Newspaper Clippings Volume II 1893-1907 Boy Register Mr. T S Register died Monday Night last at his home four miles east of Eastman after suffering intensely for several weeks with asthma. He has long been a sufferer with this dread disease, and ofter it looked as if he could not live. Boy Register was about sixty years old, and was for many years a prominent farmer of Laurens County. He was a Confederate Soldier. He leaves several children to mourn his demise. I know he was in the 14 th Ga. Infantry. I know he fathered many if not loads of children with women all over south Ga. I just wanted to let some of you know in case you were wondering, that two of the women he had children with were my descendants, Mary Elizabeth and Pina Powell. Sincerely, Dawn [email protected]

She married M C Wright in 1885 but until then she had a past. Here is the dirty laundry. Tiny/Pina Powell was born 1850 to Larkin and Nancy Powell. In 1870 she is 20 was a 6month old son named David Talcutt or Tolquitt Powell. His father was Talcutt or Tolquitt S. REGISTER. TS Register or "Boy" as he was called by people who knew him was known all over Dodge and Telfair counties and I am sure other counties fathering children out of wedlock. Not only did Pina have this baby boy by him but her older sister Mary Elizabeth born 1845 had her first three by him. Victoria born 1867, LouGenia born 1868, and Mac Dalton born 1870/71 ish. Mac Dalton started RedHill Babtist Church and preached there for 25 years. If you know anything about TS REGISTER or MAC DALTON I would love to talk to you. I need to add that David Talcutt Powell grew up and married Elizabeth Parker. David Powell was known as "UNCLE OR COUSIN PETE ". They had five or so children. Millard, Stella, Lonie, Weeda or Ouida, and some others.... these children should have had the Register name, He then married LouElla Mullis and had the following children, Carolynn, Lavada, Baskum, Menaughton, Dewey, Edward, and probably a few more, and these children should have had the Register name as well. I have lots more details, I hope someone would share family info like this with me one day because I know Henry Manning Powell (the one I descend from) should have been a Thomas not a Powell. I am just hoping someone will tell the story and share it. Its nice to know these things. Sincerely, Dawn [email protected]

Browning, Jr. born 21 Jan 1885, no date of death for either Ruby or Daniel. [Considering those dates, Daniel W. Browning, Jr. might have been killed in WW I, no data to confirm.] They had two children, Albert Nash, born 4 Nov 1916, died 17 Sep 1980, buried Oakland Cemetery in Helena, Telfair Co., GA. and Daniel Browning, Jr. born 6 Dec 1918, died 17 Feb 1969, buried Oakland Cemetery, Helena, Telfair Co., GA. On 30 Nov 1941 Ruby married Frederick J. Diemer. I have no further information on that marriage or on Frederick or where they lived. It might very well have been Helena, GA since it appeares that Ruby must have lived there most of her married life. Her parents apparently lived in Dodge Co., Where they are buried and where Ruby was born. Most of this information came from the Dodge and Telfair Cemeteries Books. I will be happy to be of more assistance if I can.
