Author: mpeachhead Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.georgia.counties.telfair/978.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: WJ Williams was Joseph B.'s son Wiley. He was a Colonel in the Civil War, decorated at Cold Harbor I believe. He had several wives as you can see and ultimately settled in Eastman, GA, in his old age. He built a fine home there, and I believe it's still standing. Where is Old Concord located? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Williams in the online digest I found written by Tad Evans. www.lib.byu.edu/fhc/index/php Go to that url, do an author search for Tad Evans, and find his "The News from Rhine, Milan, and Old Telfair." He specifically discusses the steamboat explosion. I think there are also documents about Thomas and Wiley settling their father's will. Then there are tons of mentions of Wiley, who was a prominent soldier and citizen in the area for years to come. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I met a Barnie McRae in Starke about 15 years ago, he was in his 80's at that time. I understand thta Barnie was also the name of the first male McRae of that branch. I have been to the Crosby Lake Cemetery, to visit the McRae's. I have no information on that branch of the McRae's, other than they moved to Middleburg in 1845, and then later to Bradford County. There ae still mRae's there and one lady used to be a politician in Bradford County. Sorry, but I do not rememeber her name. I inherited all of my Aunts genealogy research books and files, if I find any info on Barnie's family I will post it, John Wayne McRae. 3. *Sarah L. Marchant* child of *Jacob Marchant* and *Nancy Studstill*, was b. July 13, 1842 and md. Feb. 30, 1868 , *George* *W.* *Yancey* *Sr*., who was b. in Feb. 1844 in Telfair Co. . I got this info from census and Telfair Co. marriage book 1856-1888 pg.131 . However, it lists her name as *Sarah L.* *March* but I think this must be Sarah and George. Any thoughts on this anyone? Thanks , Emma

    1. [GATELFAIR] Charles F. Studstill and Aurora
    2. EMMA SANDERS
    3. Chester F. Studstill, b. in Mar. of 1884 according to the 1900 census when he was in his parents’ home. His name is clearly listed as Chester F. Studstill by his parents, he evidently began using the name of Charles or Charlie. At the time of the 1910 census, Chester is listed as Chas. Studstill. When he registered for the WWI draft in Telfair Co., he used the name of Charles F. Studstill and gave his date of birth as being Mar. 10, 1884. He named his wife Aurora as being his next of kin. At the time of the 1920 census, this family was still in Telfair Co.and he was listed as C. F. Studstill. Between 1920 and 1930, they moved to Fulton Co., GA and he is again listed as Charles F. Studstill. Looking for marriage date of Mr. Studstill and Aurora as well a parents of Aurora. Any help appreciated.
