Frank Powell comes from James and Ailsey Powell who had Alexander Powell, who had Allen Beverly Powell, Who had Charles BarneyPowell, who had, Claude Braxton Powell, who in turn had Homer Braxton Powell, Sr. who had Frank William Powell, My husband. We are also related to the Smiths,Swinsons,Keens from Georgia, NC, VA, and FL. I am trying to locate info on George Cader Powell who married Patience. Son Lewis Thornton Powell, Alias; Lewis Thornton Paine or Payne was hung as a co-conspiriter in the assisnation of Abe Lincoln. I am also researhing the Cades Cove Powell's in Tennessee out of Gatlinburg, Tn. I believe we may be related to this line, also. I'm also trying to find out any information on my Grandmother, Leala Bowen Williams b 23 Sept 1886 d 30 Jan 1919. She would have been GreatGranddaughter of Needham Bowen, Granddaughter of George Washington Bowen, daughter of Andrew Jackson Bowen and Emma Fussell Bowen and wife of Lewis Wright Williams. I have a picture of her with her mother Emma but know very little about her except that she died very young after her 7th child was born in Jan 1919. I think she might still have some copies of the John Willcox 1728 - 1793. If not she can put you in touch with the publisher. Its been awhile since I've been to the old Willcox Grave Yard but I believe your John Coffee, who John Coffee Willcox is named after. Don't quote me. The Willcox Family is written up in the Passing of the Pines by Marilu McDonald she is a descendant but now in a nursing home. Her books all (3) are out of print. Her son said they are all gone. I doubt they ever will be reprinted, the younger generation just don't care. Thats a fact. Hope to see you at the reunion. Also my cousin Tad Evans (well known) his grandmother Tack Willcox is related to Swain Family. He has a book on thwe EVANS FAMILY.
