As of this afternoon, this list has 33 subscribers. Notice from Rootsweb - Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state. Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb. As an alternative to RootsWeb Mailing Lists, Ancestry message boards are a great option to network with others in the genealogy community. Message boards are available for free with an Ancestry registered account. Hosted Sites and WorldConnect will continue to be up, running and maintained. Greetings, I'm searching for the parents/siblings of Mulatto woman Nancy Fletcher, maiden name Graham born 1811 or 12 in North Carolina, but married, and lived in Telafir Co. Ga. She died in 1908 in Telfair Co. Buried in McRae, at the Sarah Graham cemetery, a.k.a. Graham Cemetery #2. I find no contact information for the cemetery to try and get more informatuon on her family. Her husband was either Frank or Henry Fletcher. Her son was either Frank or Henry Fletcher. I can't recall now which name is her husband, and which is her son. While married, her husband reported she was born in Ga. on the census. But once she became a widow, and answered for herself in 1900 census, she stated she was born in North Carolina. I have eyes on a particular Graham family in Columbus Co. N. Carolina, and feel she is part of that tight knit clan. April.

They were one G. off... John S. Register was paid on occasion to guard prisoners, as evidenced by the county account payment books, but it was not him that was a peace officer, it was his father. John S's mother never married. She had 4 sons out of wedlock and she and her much older neighbor were haulled into court at least on 4 occasions for fornication and living in a state of fornication (Shacking up!). Each of the first 3 occasions coincides with the birth of her 3 oldest children. Her fourth son, well... we just don't know his dad yet! This older man was a peace officer and served as bailiff in Laurens Co. for many years, up until about 2 years before he died. A relative of mine, Charles McRae's Commanding Officer during the war of northen aggression, was Captain John A. Coffee of Telfair County, Ga. Charles was born at China Hill, Ga. in 1839, died 30 Nov 1861, in camp, at Union Mills , Va.
