Hi Virginia, I'm related to Michael Watson through his son, Perry M. Watson. I have limited information on the family, but will be glad to share what I have. Most of the research I have on Michael's children comes from Kit Elkins, another Watson family researcher. If anyone else has information for the Watson family, I would like to correspond with you. I've listed the details below. Carla Miles #1 pg 312 29 Dec 1858 A.J. Youngblood and his wife Serena Ann Youngblood, formerly Serena Ann Watson to Jonathan B. Willis died on 4/18/1878 in Alabama. #3 pg 313 Marion Co. 1 Jan 1859 Robert C. Bailey and wife Sarah, formerly wife of Mikail Watson, dec'd to Jonathan B. Julius Watson (Henry Alabama) to Jonathan McCrary $150 one undivided fifth of 12th Dis LL22 LL53 506 acres Wit: Em W. Cotten, Recorded: Aug 18, 1859 [NOTE: This must have been the estate of Michael Watson] #4 Julius Moore Watson was the oldest child of Michael and Sarah Watson. Julius was born about 1834 in South Carolina. He married Sarah Elizabeth Parker. This is all the information I have for him. Additional notes about the Watson family: Michael Watson was born in 1775 in South Carolina. His first wife's name is unknown, they had eight children: Richmond Watson, Willis Watson, Sealy Watson Elkins, Mary "Polly" Watson Elkins, Benjamin R. Watson, Michael Perry Watson ( in my research I've never seen Perry go by the name of Michael. His name was listed this way in Michael Watson's will. All of the records I've found have his name as Perry M. Watson), Arthur A. Watson, Elizabeth Ellen Watson Hart. Richmond and Benjamin Watson stayed in South Carolina their entire lives. Willis and Perry Watson moved to Georgia as well as their sisters, Mary and Elizabeth. I'm not sure if Sealy Watson stayed in SC or moved to GA. It is thought Michael Watson married his second wife, Sarah, about 1833. Their children were: Julius Moore Watson, Sarena A. Watson Youngblood, Elijah Watson and Winny Watson Ohearn. Michael Watson must have moved from SC to GA sometime between 1834 and 1836, according to the birthdates of his children. Julius was born abt. 1834 in SC and Sarena followed in 1836 and her birthplace is given as GA. Michael Watson's will was dated 11/20/1844 and it was destroyed by fire: Court of Ordinary July Term 1846 It appearing to the Court upon the oath of Thos. Burge and Burton W. Dowd that the within is a copy in substance of the original Will and that the original has been destroyed by fire. Therefore Ordered by the Court that the within Copy be established in lieu of said Original. Solomon Wall J.I.G. T. R. Nutt J.I.G. Jordan Wilcher J.I.G. I don't know the exact date of Michael's death. The schedule of goods of his estate was dated 5/31/1845, so he died sometime before this date. Most likely in May of 1845. His burial place is unknown. Michael Watson's will and schedule of goods from his estate are posted in the Marion County Archives. Carla Miles
