I would like to tie some of the several "loose" Hobbs I have in my data base to as close to one family as I can. If anyone has MORE than I do-please add... I have a picture to share of Mitch Hobbs and family. His wife was Sara Eugenia Pridgeon-sister to my "Jerry" (James Jeremiah Jackson) children of James Ruffin and Sara Eugenia Hamilton. He was Enoch Mitchell Hobbs born 11 Nov 1866 Talbot Co Ga murdered 30 Apr 1930 Concord, Sumter, Ga. He married4 Nov 1890 Taylor Co. Ga. Sara was born 3 Mar 1870 and died before 1913. They had at least - the following children General C 8 Aug 1891 Anne Bell 2 Feb 1895 Walter C a 1895 Willie Martin 9 Mar 1899 Americus Times-Recorder dated Sunday May 4 1930 stating the E M Hobbs at Concord had been shot four times in the body with a pistol and once in the head with a shot gun. It stated that he was buried 2 May at the Bethlehem Church in Macon County. Survived by one daughter, Mrs Childre, of Americus; three sons, W M of Americus, W C of Montezuma and G C of Fort Valley; three brothers, G W Hobbs of Reynolds, H M of Ideal and L F of Ideal and one sister Mrs Betty Barfield of Fort Valley. Mitch was the son of Gilbert C Hobbs & Nancy E Fountain. I have more on her parents, but only this on them.: They also had G W Hobbs, H M Hobbs, F Hobbs, Betty Hobbs. _____________ James Hobbs born Jun 1792 Wake Co NC died 1878 Taylor Co. Ga. He was the child of John and Mary to Crawford, Grandchild of William Hobbs and Mary Hobbs. James married Rebecca Merchant 10 Jan 1816 Warren Co Ga They had at least: Willis 1817 John M 5 May 1821 Andrew J 20 Feb 1833 Elizabeth a 1838 Willis married ? & had James B CSA married Ellen Watson #2 chidren Clifford, Perry, Matty, Zippa, Clinton m Warren Childs. I have another Macon Co bunch-possibly connected too- John & Sara from Chowan Co NC, son Isaac, son Stephen from Bladen Co NC to Macon Co Ga his son Isaac & Kiziah Jackson They had- among others- Owen (David) who had Marshall Jackson born 1881 Crawford died 1946 Reynolds, Taylor, Ga. He married Harriet L Underwood born 1883 Taylor died 1959 Reynolds- child of John Howard Underwood-again. Their Little Hobbs were Paul Brown Leila Marguerite 22 Nov 1902 James Hinton Lettie Maude Marshall Jackson 1 Oct 1909 John G Ruth Neva Resa Gerry Hill ____ John Henry Lagrone married #2 Elizabeth "Betty" Hobbs.. His first wife was Bertha Ida Beatrice Underwood-child of my Reuben & Baralby Spain. John died in Taylor Co. ___________ Iva Hobbs born Dec 1867 married 18 Oct 1892 Taylor Co Ga Sylvester "Aunt Sister" Underwood had Henry & Edward. She was the child of John Howard-brother of my Reuben Isham. ________
