    3. Does anyone know if there are family connections between any of these people? pg 418 Taylor County Deed Sumter Co Controversy pending in said county between William H. Montfort and Andrew J. Colbert Adm of James Mitchell and Bedford J. Head in relation to the rights of possession of certain Negro Slaves to wit: Millie, Irvin, Charles & Harriett Warrents pending in Superior Court of Muscogee Montfort charges said Head with illegal acts in relation to said slaves. Also pending in Monroe County Inferior Court an appeal from the Ordinary in regard to rights of said Bedford on letters of Administration of William Head, dec'd. Pending in Superior Court of Taylor Co. an action of said William Head vs said Montfort & Colbert for the recovery of certain Negro slaves described, to wit nineteen in numbers; parties have agreed to bring to a trial in Taylor County. Now agreed that said Negro woman, Harriett, be left out of the controversy having agreed to dispose of the claim of the estate they represent to A.H. Rowell and they hereby release each other and their respective estates of all claims. Further agreed that Montfort shall consent to nol pros the indictment above described in the county of Muscogee vs said Head provided he can procure the consent of the Judge & Sol Gen. Further agreed on the possionary warrents vs said Head now pending shall be continued until the 2nd Mon in Dec nexgt, then to be dismissed if the said indictment is not prossed and abandoned. Montford & Colbert will remove their proceedings in Monroe County interferring with the application of said Head for said letters and the motion to set aside his temporary letter. Further agreed that Head shall deliver to said Montfort & Colbert the said Milley, Charles and Lewis on the condition on hereafter expressed. Agreed that the action to recover said slaves in Taylor Co will proceed and no objections taken to the same by reason of the said Heard having got possession of said negroes but the same to proceed as though he never had got the same in his actual custody. Parties consent to the sale of Negroes, the amount of sale and interest should stand as the measure of damages in said trover case. If agreed that said indictment shall be null and void except as to Harriett, and said Montfort & Colbert agree to return Milley, Charles and Lewis to Head. Bedford Head Adm of Wm Head William H.
