The Lebanon Baptist Church is located on 19 south of Butler just after you cross Ramulette Creek and Whitewater Creek junction. Does anyone know any more about the history of the church? Does it have a cemetery? It should have celebrated a 100 year anniversary a little while ago. Wondered if they put out a historical brochure? The Lebanon Baptist Church was constituted on Thursday before the fourth Sunday in November 1903. According to "Taylor County Turns Back the Clock" members of the Presbytery to constitute the Lebanon Baptist Church were M.T. Gaultney, John Locke, J.T. Wade and J.M. Bray. M. T. Gaultney was elected as moderator and J. M. Bray as secretary. The charter members were J.R. Harris, J. T. Blakely, John Bryant, Isaac Eubanks, Mrs. Leana Harris, Miss Pearl Harris and Mrs. M. L. Blakely. Everyone agreed to name the church Lebanon Baptist Church. J. T. Blakely was the first deacon elected January 9, 1904.
