Thompsons can be seen 1864 map On Muscogee Railroad line east of Butler - midway to Reynolds http://www.cviog.uga.edu/Projects/gainfo/histcountymaps/taylor1864map.htm Could this be Panhandle? It appears to be half way between Butler and Reynolds right on the railroad.
