James Lloyd born 1785 Greene Co Ga d a 1849 married 23 Feb 1830 Crawford Co. Ga. Nancy Hamilton. He is said to be son of James E Lloyd & Sara Stewart of Frederick Va and Greene Co. Ga. They had at least Gresham 1834 Talbot. John 1840 Talbot. Nancy is said to be the daughter of Sarah (Black) Hamilton McCants of Crawford & Talbot Co. Ga. (Later Taylor) Sarah is said to have had at least by her first husband: Zachariah 1787, John Black 1800, Nancy and Margaret. More information is needed to tie them together. Help me figure out the correct initials on this deed which deals with Joseph B. McCants. The handwriting is so easily confused when it is "S" or "L". (maybe this is Sarah) I did find an Admin Bond on George R. McCants...which lists Sarah and Mary as orphans. pg 553 Taylor County Received of J.C. McCants, Admin of Joseph B. We recently visited this Church,and located the grave site of my Grandmother ,Ella Thompsaon Stephens,and my G=Grandmother,Jinnette Thompson.,with some great assistance from the Church secretary,who furnished us with a row list. We desire to send a Thank-you note,and commend the Congregation for maintaining such a beautiful country Church(1833).My first letter was returned for lack of a proper mailinng address.Thhe Church is located on the Lower Fayettville Rd,west of Newnan,Ga..I mailed the letter to Lower Fayetteville Rd,Sharpsburg, but did not have a rural box number. Windham In Deaths Embrace Over the wire Thursday morning, came the sad tidings that Mrs. Eula Wilson Windham, wife of Mr. Guy Windham, had expired the night before about 11 oclock at her home at Tifton. Hearts were saddened and Butler was in deep mourning as the result of this announcement. Just a short time ago she was well, the very picture of health, cheerful and happy, unmindful of the impending fate which was to be hers. On February 2nd, she presented her husband with as fine a baby girl as ever visited a home, bringing happiness and sunshine to the hearts of its parents. Closely following the birth of her child Mrs. Windham fell victim to influenza which developed into pneumonia. Physicians, professional nurses, loved ones and neighbors made the effort of their lives that she might be spared to her family. Hope of saving her life, which at one time was almost lost, was regained and in just a few hours before her death she was considered to be practically out of danger. But almost without warning Wednesday night the death summons came. Early in the evening she suffered a relapse and by 11 oclock her sweet spirit had returned to the God who gave it. Mrs. Windham, daughter of Hon. W.B. Wilson, late ordinary of this county, and Mrs. Wilson, now of this place, was about 29 years of age. She was reared and educated here and married Mr. Guy Windham, of this city September 14, 1911. About three years ago they moved to Tifton, where Mr. Windham had been in the cotton business. Possessed of a cultured mind, broad sympathies and an unerring instinct for the fine and noble, Mrs. Windham was able to see and inspire the best in others. She elected to help and not criticize, for her heart was full of ministry and service. She was a dutiful daughter, a gracious sister, a loyal wife, a devoted mother and faithful friend. A consecrated Christian her trust in the Master was absolute. She bore the suffering of her last illness with serene faith and walked into the valley of the shadow of death unafraid. She calmly committed her soul into the hands of Him who gave it and in the early hours of the night fell peacefully asleep. Mrs. Windhams remains were brought to Butler Thursday. Friday afternoon at 4 oclock friends far and near assembled at the Wilson home, where the funeral service took place, to pay their last respect to one they held in high esteem. Impressive funeral services were conducted by Elder W.J. Heard assisted by Rev. L.A. Harrell, after which the body was laid to rest in the family lot in the city cemetery. The pallbearers were: Messrs. J.W. Edwards, G.C. Smith, H.J. Peagler, M.R. Cameron, Howard Riley and C.E. Benns. To the sorely bereaved husband, the bright 4-year-old son, beautiful little daughter, and other loved ones the people of this community extend their deepest sympathy. The cause of the childs death was from spinal meningitis, which baffled the skill of the best physicians for several weeks. The remains were brought here for interment yesterday accompanied by the parents, also Rev. and Mrs. John Locke, who had been attending the bedside of the little sufferer during its illness. The deceased was 36 years old, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Cobb of Americus. Her remains were interred Monday in the cemetery at Americus. Besides her husband Mrs. Gunn is survived by three small children, one brother and five sisters. Blys reputation as a successful fisherman along Flint river was known throughout the section. He was well thought of by his race and by them will be greatly missed.
