This sounds so interesting. Do you know what section of Taliaferro County that your G-Uncle lived in? That might give us a clue as to where to look. Academies were in most counties of GA -- and some of the earliest had to be designated by the Legislature. GALILEO has some of them -- although I don't know that I've looked for Taliaferro County. If someone has the time perhaps they could try to locate this. It usually tells the Trustees and the date it was formed.
