Miss Sara Ruth Lowman Dec. 26, 1925 - Oct. 21, 2000 Waverly Hall: Sara Ruth Lowman, 74 of Waverly Hall, died Saturday, Oct. 21 at Oak View Nursing Home, Waverly Hall. Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 23 at the Waverly Hall Cemetery with Rev. Rob McDaniel officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Tim Brown, Matt Brown, Brandon Brown, Andrew McPherson and Allen McPherson. Miss Lowman was born in Talbot County, the daughter of Willie Lawrence Lowman and Glennie Dean Lowman. In her younger life, she had attended Omaha, GA Baptist and Waverly Hall Baptist Church. She had been a resident of Oak View Nursing home since 1974. Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law. Bobby and Pat Lowman of Waverly Hall; a sister, Mamie Lowman Earick of Spanaway, Washington; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Lowman of Jonesboro and Sara O. Lowman of Columbus; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Bill Lowman and Everett Lowman. Smith-Steele-Meadows Funeral Home of Manchester was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Byrdell Jackson Oct. 12, 2000 Box Springs - Funeral services for Mrs. Byrdell Jackson, 74, who passed away Oct. 12, were held Oct. 17 at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Talbotton with Elder Gentle Lee Culpepper officiating. Interment followed in Liberty Hill Cemetery in Box Springs. Mrs. Jackson was born to the late Charlie and Bertha Harris. She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Talbotton. Survivors include three sons, Willie Harris of Columbus, William Jackson and Robert Washington, both of Talbotton; three daughters, Mary Williams, Anna Bell Daniel and Angela Jackson, all of Talbotton; one sister, Mary Lee Harris, also of Talbotton; one brother, Nathaniel Harris of Talbotton; one aunt, Williw Walton of columbus; one uncle, Turner Howard of Box Springs; a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and friends. A daughter, Florence Mae Whitehead, preceded her in death. Charles Wesley McDougald Funeral Home of Butler was in charge of arrangements.
