The name at the end is the "official" who married the individual. Sometimes these are JP (Justice of Peace) or JIC (Justice of Inferior Court) or a clergyman (OM - Ordained Minister MG Minister of the Gospel) I'm not sure if the clergymen meant this literally....."ordained" vs "unordained". I doubt if there was such a thing as an "unordained"....so I think they were used interchangeably. I think these names are very, very important as they might give an indication as to the part of the county they lived in. I have been especially curious about Nathaniel Athon, as he seems to come up throughout the entire 3 marriage books...and quite frequently. So either he was a very popular minister....or he really did have a large congregation....or several of them!!
