One of the landmarks: Findly Spring Branch. Witnessed by Timothy GRIGGS & J.P. FERGUSON. This is another instance where FINDLEYs and GRIGGS are connected. Owen is one of five FIN(D)LEY brothers -- Owen, Charles, Ed, Evan and Benjamin -- all of whom were in Talbot County GA part or all of the period of about 1830-1859. Owen FINDLEY served as a 2nd Lt. in military from May 2, 1829 to June 20, 1832, from Talbot Co GA. (-History of Pleasant Hill, Talbot Co GA by Nelson Goolsby, pg 54-55) By 1860 Owen FINLEY and family had migrated to TX where they eventually settled in Cass County. His brothers Evan and Benjamin moved to AL. Charles stayed in Meriwether Co GA. We do not know where Ed went.
