Conner and his wife Virginia Stanford. They were married on March 10, 1886 in Montgomery County Georgia. Wilson F. Conner and his wife were living in Beall Georgia in 1916. Virginias father was Anderson W. Stanford and he was living with his daughter in Beall, Talbot County when he died in 1916. MONTGOMERY MONITOR Mount Vernon, Georgia Thursday October 26, 1916 Death of Veteran A. W. Stanford Mr. A. W. Stanford , well known in this county, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. F. Conner, at Beall, Ga., Monday. His remains were returned to this county and laid away in the Sharp cemetery, south of Alston, Tuesday, the funeral rites being said by Rev. J. M. Davis. Mr. Stanford, born Dec. 26, 1836, was 80 years old. He was a native of Warren county, but had lived in Montgomery county for many years. Throughout the late war he was a soldier of the Confederacy, and since boyhood had been a member of the Baptist church. He leaves two daughters, Mrs. W. F. Conner and Mrs. Robert Thompson of Jeff Davis county, and a brother, Mr. J. D. Stanford of Tarrytown, besides other relatives in this county. One by one the old soldiers are called to their reward.
