Their children include: James (b. ca. 1839), Frances (ca. 1831), William (ca. 1843), Jasper (ca. 1847), and Jane (ca. 1849). On the 1840 census of Talbot, Garrison's household appears between those of Andrew HELMS (possibly Garrison's father) and John ROBINSON (perhaps Mahala's brother). Andrew HELMS' (b. 1780's) household includes a female b. 1790's and five others. On the 1850 census of Talbot, Garrison's household includes Frances ROBINSON (age 60, b. SC), apparently Mahala's mother. Garrison also appears on an 1857 tax list in the 1107th GMD in Chattahoochee Co, GA, and had four children of school age (6-18) enrolled in Chattahoochee Co. schools in 1860.
