Sallie was born on October 3, 1857 in Talbot County, Georgia. Sallie Nelson married John Jefferson Goolsby of Pleasant Hill. John was born on June 1, 1850 in Georgia and is the son of Edwin Riley Goolsby and Mary (Cosby) Goolsby. John Goolsby was previously married to Nancy Jane Waldron and they had three children: Eugene Goolsby (born 1883), Edwin F. Goolsby (born 1887) and Clifton Goolsby (born 1888). John and Sallie Goolsby were the parents of five children: / ....Edwin F. Goolsby, b. 1887, Georgia/ ....Julian Goolsby, b. May, 1891, Georgia/ ....Lawrence Nelson Goolsby (2.10.1.5.2), b. January, 1894, Georgia/ ....Mary J. Goolsby, b. February, 1895, Georgia/ ....Joseph Penelton Goolsby, b. April, 1898, Georgia >From 1900 to 1920, John and Sallie Goolsby were living in Talbot County, Georgia. John Goolsby died on February 12, 1923 in Talbot County, Georgia and Sallie (Nelson) Goolsby died on December 13, 1940 in Talbot County, Georgia. John Goolsby and Sallie (Nelson) Goolsby were buried in Woodland Cemetery in Woodland, Georgia. Julian Goolsby married Florence Hendricks and they had four children: - Sara Goolsby, - Pafford Goolsby, - Frances Goolsby, - Louise Goolsby. Julian Goolsby died in 1942. Sara Goolsby married Henry Traylor and they had two children: - Barbara Traylor, - Vanita Traylor. Pafford Goolsby married Melba Riley and they had two adopted children: - Bobby Goolsby, - Betty Jean Goolsby. Pafford and Melba Goolsby live in Columbus, Georgia. Frances Goolsby married Grady Sosebee and they had three children: - Charles Sosebee, - Mike Sosebee, - Diane Sosebee. Frances (Goolsby) Sosebee lives in Columbus, Georgia. Louise Goolsby married X. J. Lenoir and they had two children: - Karen Lenoir, - William Lenoir. William Lenoir was killed in World War II. Manie Goolsby married Thompson Ferguson and they had three children: -Margaret Ferguson, - Elsie Ferguson, - Vivian Ferguson. Manie (Goolsby) Ferguson died in 1970. Margaret Ferguson married Carol Sears. Elsie Ferguson married C. K. Comerford. Vivian Ferguson married William Russell. Joseph Goolsby married Kate Adams and they had three children: - Ector Goolsby, -Alfred Goolsby, - Thomas Goolsby.
