    3. Hi, I'm new to the list and looking for three families in Talbot Co., which seem to be common surnames in the area. INGRAM I'm looking for the ancestors and descendants of my GGG Grandfather, Robert Ingram, who was born in Ireland and emigrated to Chester Co., SC in 1792. He died in 1838 in Talbot County, GA. The name of his first wife is unknown. I don't know whether she was with him when he came to the U.S., or died in Ireland. One of their sons was Joseph (1800-1858), who married Margaret 'Peggy' Johnston. Other children are believed to have been: Huey (<1802-) Robert C. (1802-1868) Hannah (1803-1882) Charles C. (1810-1847) and two more sons whose names are not known to me. About 1825, Robert Ingram married Mary Pendergrass Shaw, the widow of James Shaw; they were neighbors in Chester Co. Both are buried in Talbot Co. JOHNSTON I'm also looking for ancestors and descendants of James Johnston. James was born before 1760, probably in Scotland and died sometime after 27 Nov 1815 (date of his will) and before 2 Mar 1816 (date will was proven). His son, John, predeceased him. I don't know who his wife was. There were three children I know of: John, Isabella, and Sarah. John Johnston was born before 1782 in Glascow, Scotland and died about 1816 in Chester Co., SC. He married Jennet [unknown]; she was also raised in Glasgow, Scotland (according to my grandfather). Jennet was born about 1787 and died sometime after 1860, in Talbot Co., GA. John and Jennet had four children: Margaret 'Peggy' (who married Joseph Ingram; they lived in Talbot Co., GA and Jennet lived with them before her death), Jeane, James, Mary Jeane Johnston: Is this Sarah J. JOHNSTON, b. 1799 in Chester co., SC, d 13 Mar 1872 in Talbot Co. GA; William Reedy married Sarah J. Johnston 5 Jun 1840 in Talbot co. James Johnston, Jr.: I have no information on him and wonder if he also came to Talbot Co. Mary Johnston: Is she one of these Marys? George Johnston married Mary Johnston 2 Nov 1834 in Talbot Co., GA. John C. Calhoun married Mary Ann Johnston 3 Apr 1835 in Talbot Co., GA. James Johnston's other two children were: Isabella, who m. (Unkn) NOUGHES; and Sarah, born in 1800 who m. (Unkn) AKINS\EAKINS and had a son named James AKINS\EAKINS. Did they also come to Talbot Co.? HAWKINS Jesse H. Hawkins was probably born about 1780 in NC. He died about 1848 in Pike Co., GA. I believe he is the father of my GG Grandfather, William Hawkins, who lived and raised his family in Talbot Co., GA. Jesse H. Hawkins m. Mary [Unknown] about 1800. Jesse's will mentions five children: William M. Funssy Bessie (1805->1846) Sarah (ca1808->1846) Edwin (ca1820->1860) Josiah (~1821->1846) Does anyone know if this Jesse Hawkins' son William married Serena Millen? Does anyone have any information on the other four children? Jesse HAWKINS is listed on Pike Co., GA tax digests between about 1839-1845, along with Josiah, Edwin, and Herman Hawkins. They may have come to GA from SC; but supposedly were originally from NC. Will of Jesse H. HAWKINS, written 2 June 1847, and signed with his mark (Pike Co., Will Bk C:11). Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Is anyone else researching these families? Marian
