I did some more research on Jesse Hawkins and I plan to see if I can get a copy of the will of William Hawkins of Jones Co., NC and maybe join the NC Jones Co. list. William of NC had a son named Jesse and a grandson named William; the info I found doesn't make it clear whether grandson William is Jesse's son, though. If he is, that is probably my Jesse Hawkins.
