I found a Mary Stripling in Household of Thomas Stripling of Crawford Co 1850 census but no confirmation same Mary. Age would be right. Mary Jane possibly had sister Elizabeth just older than her that married a Samuel Amos also of Talbot co. Have not connected Samuel to John because as you know no given names on census 1840 just family configuration... do you know if same Stripling family????
