She was sitting in the parlor of a home in Talbotton when she was shot. Dr Ryder tried to kill himself by drugging himself up and slashing his own wrists and jumping into a nearby pond. He was pulled out revived and made to stand trial. He was being transferred to the Muscogee County Jail when a group took hold of him and lynched him on the road between Columbus and Waverly Hall. I have pictures of the pond, the blood stains on the floor of the house where she died in Talbotton, and a picture of her house in Woodland. Let me know if you would like to see the pictures.
