The Greer line starts in Laurens County SC ending with Hope Hull Hammock who marries Martha McCrary, descendant of John McCrary and Jane Greer. Melissa Maxwell married my James Bell Stephenson of Florida but suspect the family may have been in Georgia. Melissa Maxwell, however was born in Illinois however other members of that family may have taken the southern route through Georgia as a good many of my family members originate there.
